Vernette Knapp introduced Jasmine Sanasinh and Amritha Kumar who were the speakers today.  Jasmine is the Rotaract President and on the board of the Iowa City PM Satellite Club. 
Jasmine is a senior at the U of I and is graduating in December 2023 with a BS in Global Health Studies, certificates in Public Health and Nonprofit Leadership and Philanthropy.   She was in Interact in District 5970.  She has been to RYLA and was a team leader for two years.  She was able to join the March 2023 Xicotepec Project.  
Amritha Kumar grew up in Fairfield, IA   She is a junior at the U of I and is studying Medical Anthropology on a pre-med track with a Spanish minor.  Amritha was a member of the Fairfield's Interact Club and attended RYLA in 2019.  She is the secretary of the Rotaract club and will be President next year.  Amritha attended the Xicotepec Project in March. 
Jasmine and Amritha showed a video of their travels in Xicotepec.  They enjoyed visiting many schools and doing projects with the children.   They shared stories of their host familes and the food that they enjoyed.   Both Jasmine and Amritha plan to go on the trip in 2024.
 
President Jenny called the meeting to order at 7:05 am. 5Allie Stutting earned $131.00 at the Extreme Arena working a concession stand.  Due to lack 02 Wof volunteers, we will only be delivering MOW on Fridays. 
Vernette Knapp asked for a moment of silence for the passing of PDG Denny Skinner.   His funeral is today at 10:30 am in Nevada.
 
Deb Ockenfels gave an update on the Flight to End Polio.  They got to Pakistan and still have problems with the auto pilot.  They are looking forward to their 8 days in Indian and Sri Lanka.  
The Walk to the River will be at 11:30 today June 6th from West High to the Burlington Bridge.  This walk represents the distance that some families walk twice a day to get a pail of water. 
Can Do on Saturday was very hot and lively. We had 14 volunteers.   We had 11 bins full and earned $627.00. 
Mark Patton, Program Coordinator for 2023-2024 reported that programs were assigned through Thanksgiving.  If you do not sign you up, Mark will sign you up. 
Gavel passing will be Wednesday June 28 at Ann Romanoski home at 502 Woodridge, Iowa City, IA at 5:30 pm.  This will be a potluck and Ann will pass a sign up sheet around next week.
