Nancy Pacha introduced the RYLA and World Affairs Students.  Nancy spoke on the importance of attending both these programs to gain valuable leadership skills and Woto learn about World Peace and Understanding.  We were able to four west High Students to RYLA and Six students to World Affairs. The noon club also send six students to World Affairs.  Three students made a presentation on RYLA.  The activity "Take a Look Around was talked about.  This activity brings out the good and the bad feelings that students have.  LGDBQ was talked about. Questions:  What to Know and What to say.  At the end of the day there were rap sessions to discuss the events of the day.  There were usually 12 individuals on a RYLA  team.   Coe College has wonderful food.  RYLA is a "Life Changing Experience and you make many friends for "Life"
World Affairs was held virtually. The theme was Justice and International Bias.  Next years theme is Reenergizing Global Health.   World Affairs will continue to be virtual.
 
 
 
 
 
President Liz called the meeting to order at 7:05 am. She opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-Way test plus will it be fun.   She passed out the duty roster.  We could use several more clean up people and Rotary Moments or Gratitude and Joy. 
The Food Fight.  Deb Ockenfels announced that the Downtown club won.  The breakdown:  IC AM 71 members $521.78,  Downtown 21 members $609.00.
President Liz announced that if you were a Board Member or had a District Position, Vernette has a District Directory for you.  
Past President Amy announced that the Bylaws will be sent out shortly.    There will be a vote later and a time for discussion if necessary.  Amy was congratulate for updating the By-Laws.  The last time they were updated was 2015.  
Deb Ockenfels announced that the District Grant was approved.  There have been 6500 pairs of shoes  and socks ordered.  WE will be labeling with the Rotary Club of Iowa City Am Sticker. At this time, Deb is working on  sizing.  Shoes will be distributed to Shelter House, DVIP, Neighborhood Center of Johnson County, and Open Heartland.
