PDG Chris Knapp Introduced Greg Probst, District 6000 Youth Exchange Chair who introduced the clubs Youth Exchange Student, Lara Nicoletti.
Lara it 16 years old from Brazil.  The wanted New York or LA but  heard she was going to Iowa.  Where is the world is Iowa.  When she got here all she saw was Corn.
She is very happy to be here.
 
Rotarian's in the News:  Tom and Louise Novak were honored at the Newman Center for their philanthropy.
Jennifer and Allison will be working Dec. 6th  and Dec. 15th doing Glittering Tattoos. 
A big thank you to all the Ride to End Polio Riders.  A thank you to Brian Adamec  who lined up three free Fridays and Core Fitness for people to ride. The West High Interact raised $140 and City High Interact raised $100.
Their Contributions along with the clubs contributions totaled $2,391.00.  With the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation match, our total Contribution is $7,173.00 to Polio
Lara continued her presentation.  She talked about her time here so far,  She summarized the months: First Month, Iowa State Fair, first Rotary Meeting with our club, Iowa City's Farmer's market. Second Month, Freshman Wake Up, First Cross County Races,more races, Youth Exchange Meeting overnight, Football game.
Third Month, Trip to Beloit, Trip to Chicago, Pumpkin carving, First Snow Fall, Fourth Month, Run for Relief for Table to Table, End of First Tri at school, Art Classes.
She Thanked our club for hosting her and  Amanda for being the best counselor,
Chris summed up that our club has hosted for over 30 years for Youth Exchange.
We are  working for Peace and Understanding throughout the world one Youth Exchange Student at a time.
