Mark Patton, Program Coordinator for November introduced Jerry Schnoor speaking on "Climate Change and the Future".  Jerry is with the University of Iowa's Department of Climate and Engineering Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research.  The earth is two to three time warmer each year.  There are 8 billion people.  The AR6 a" Code Red new from the United States   The goal is to release GHG emissions by 45% by 2030 and net zero by 2050.  We are seeing increased heat, heavy precipitation, droughts, tropic cyclones.  Jerry talked about the increase in wildfires, and the country's worst drought, the surface melting in Greenland and the ocean temperatures increasing. The future in a change world with more floods, droughts, wildfires and sea level rising.  "This is the Decade to Act".
President Elect Theresa Burns called the meeting to order at 7:05 am.  Theresa turned the announcements over to President Jenny who was on-line.  She had Nancy Pacha talk about the World Affairs Seminar interviewing of 12 applicants on December 8th 2:30 pm at West High.  Dick Huber announced the Bide Ride for Polio this week and announced the riders:
Brian "Wheels" Adamac, Beth "Woke Spoke" Belding, Jim "Bike Left" Peterson, Brad "Brake Pad" Langguth, Jenny "Handle Bars" Seylar, Mark "Butt Butter Patton", and Dik "All Weather" Huber.   The ride is November 14-19, 2022.  Funds are due November 22, 2022 Make Checks payable to The Rotary Foundation and give to Vernette Knapp to sned into R. I. 
John Ockenfels said that a good turnout Friday for can.  We were able to sort inside.  He said we had 52 bags and made close to $500.00
