Myrene Hoover, President
Rotary Club of Iowa City AM
Iowa City, Iowa 52240

Dear Myrene, and Members of the Rotary Club of Iowa City AM,

It was a privilege to visit your club today.  Thank you for your hospitality.  Phyllis and I appreciated learning more about your club activities and projects.  Your club is truly a gift to the Iowa City area and the world.  Projects including Operation Warm,  Children's Museum, Habitat Trailer, Play To Read, and Crises Center make the community aware of the positive impact Rotary makes on Iowa City.

Thank you for entering your contribution goals to the Rotary Foundation and to PolioPlus along with your membership goals on Rotary Club Central.  Your attention to this is appreciated.

During the visit, I asked the Rotary Club of Iowa City AM to hold a special fundraiser, the proceeds of which will purchase braces in support of the Ponseti Clubfoot correction procedure.  Brace contributions should be made out to the District 6000 H.E.F. and sent to Chet Redman, 401 SE 3rd Street, Leon, Iowa 50144.

District 6000 has many resources and dedicated Rotarians willing to help clubs and officers be successful:

You are fortunate to have Assistant Governor Jody Braverman as a resource throughout the year.  Contact Jody or myself as needed during the year for assistance.  We are happy to help.

Utilize the District Leadership Directory to seek out others on the District team that may be helpful in all areas of club leadership.

The District Website, www.rotary6000.org, and our District 6000 Newsletter are sources for news and information for you and you club members.

Rotary International's Website, www.rotary.org, is an extensive resource for your club.      Members should log on to MyRotary to access valuable information concerning all facets of  Rotary.

Go to the District 6000 Facebook Page to see photos of my visit to your club.

Thank you for serving as president.  Our visit has given me a better understanding of how the Rotary Club of Iowa City AM helps make this world a better place to live.  You and your fellow Rotarians are truly “A Gift to the World.”

In Rotary service,

Loring Miller
District 6000 Governor 2015-2016
