Jack Tank, October program coordinator introduced the speaker James Tutson of Neighborhoods.  James is a former Interacter and employee of Young Life. He and is wife developed Neighborhoods.  The goal is to unite the youth of the community with the other individuals in the community.  The goal is the to develop relationship while creating diversity in all activities.
President Amy called the meeting order at 7:05 am. MOW is cancelled through November at one location.  A thank you to Karin Franklin is the new MOW coordinator.   We need a new Can Do chair.  Anyone interested please notify Amy. Vernette Knapp announced that the Polio Event on Thursday was a success.  We wished more members had attended.  The Polio Plus Fundraiser will run through November 15,2020.  Please send checks to Vernette Knapp at 2 Lime Kiln Lane NE , Iowa City, IA   52240.  Deb Ockenfels said that the Noon Club had order 12 boxes of coats.  Deb is still collecting checks for anyone interest in donating to Project Warm. Pam Ehly announced that there will be a Virtual Dr. Ponsetti on October 27, 2020..  A thank you to Kate and Pam for the Polio Event. Casey Cook gave a donation  for literacy to:  Open Heartland,  Antelope Lending Library, and The Children's Museum.
James continue his presentation talking about Building Relationships:  1.  Relate with young people--high school and college students by partnering with the school district .  2.  Work with non-profit by loving your neighbors.  Conduct weekly events and talk about life.
Everyone should be able to connect.  3.  Empower young people to serve.  Every kid has something to give. 4.  Talk with adults to volunteer by opening their homes to provide meals and and maybe a movie or game.
James said they are working to developing a board, where to partner, find people to help and evaluate the plan.
